Sport: Another English club sacks manager, assistant after 2-1 win

English Club, Huddersfield Town, on Sunday sacked their Manager, Danny Cowley, following their 2-1 victory against West Brom in the Championship on Friday.

Huddersfield also announced that Assistant Manager, Nicky Cowley, will also depart the Club immediately.

The Terriers made this known in a statement through their official website.

The statement read: “Huddersfield Town has today relieved Danny Cowley of his duties as Manager.

“Assistant Manager Nicky Cowley will also depart the club immediately.”

Reacting, Huddersfield Town Chairman, Phil Hodgkinson said: “I would like to place my thanks on record to Danny and Nicky for their hard work and dedication towards securing the Club’s place in the Sky Bet Championship for next season. That was the clear priority when they were appointed in September, and we are very grateful that has been achieved.

“We all wish Danny and Nicky all the best for the future, and they leave with my best wishes in their future endeavours.”

DAILY POST recalls that another English side, Bristol City, sacked their manager, Lee Johnson after losing 1-0 to Cardiff City earlier this month.
